The Fish
Running the entire length, from one corner to the opposite corner, the stream in Victoria Butterfly Gardens is home to the carp (Cyprinus Carpio) family of fish. The most prominent fish in the stream and a variety of the common carp is the Koi, many of them very large (some at two feet long) and of course very colourful. A distant cousin of the Koi is the goldfish and they calmly share the waters with their cousins.
The Birds
The birds and ducks of our gardens are popular attractions and often share in the highlight of entertainment through their antics. The colourful head of the Violet Plantain Eater is seen high in the plants and trees, while Leo the Orange Winged Amazon Parrot will entertain you on our bird deck. Watch for the mischievous "Spike", the rare Puna Ibis as he wanders the pathways and dips into the stream.
Tropical ducks share the stream with the fish and standing majestically at, or in the stream are the Caribbean or American Flamingo.
